Effective Date: 12 July 2026
Last Updated: 12 July 2026
Welcome to NZ Finder.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the NZ Finder website and services.
NZ Finder is operated by AN-LOC New Zealand Limited (“NZ Finder”, “we”, “our” or “us”).
By accessing or using NZ Finder, creating an account, submitting or claiming a business listing, or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not access or use NZ Finder.
These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, businesses and anyone who accesses or interacts with NZ Finder.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal information and forms an important part of your use of NZ Finder.
2. About NZ Finder
NZ Finder is an online business directory and discovery platform that helps people discover businesses, services and places across New Zealand.
Our role is to help people discover businesses and help businesses connect with their communities across New Zealand.
NZ Finder does not own, operate, manage or control the businesses listed on our website.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, NZ Finder:
- is not a marketplace
- is not a booking platform
- is not a payment platform
- is not a provider of the products or services offered by businesses listed on NZ Finder
- does not act as an agent or representative of any listed business
Any communication, agreement, booking, purchase or other transaction is solely between you and the relevant business.
NZ Finder is not responsible for the products, services, pricing, availability, accuracy of information or business practices of any business listed on the website.
Business listings are intended to help users discover businesses. Users should independently verify any information before relying on it or entering into any transaction with a business.
Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, joint venture, employment or agency relationship between NZ Finder and any business listed on the website.
3. Eligibility
To use certain features of NZ Finder, including creating an account, claiming a business listing or subscribing to a paid service, you must be 18 years of age or older, or otherwise have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements under the laws applicable to you.
By creating an account or using our services, you represent that the information you provide is accurate, complete and up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login credentials secure and confidential.
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account unless you notify us that your account has been compromised or accessed without your authorisation.
If we reasonably believe that you do not meet these eligibility requirements or that information associated with your account is false or misleading, we may suspend or terminate your access to NZ Finder in accordance with these Terms.
4. User Accounts
You may need to create an account to access certain features of NZ Finder, including managing business listings and subscribing to paid services.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities carried out using your account.
Each account must be registered using a valid and unique email address. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to use the email address associated with your account.
You must not:
- create an account using false or misleading information
- impersonate another person or organisation
- share your account with others in a way that compromises the security or integrity of NZ Finder
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to another user’s account
Accounts are personal and may not be transferred to another individual without the prior approval of NZ Finder.
If your account details change, you are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and up to date.
If you believe your account has been compromised or accessed without your authorisation, you should notify NZ Finder as soon as reasonably practicable.
We may suspend, restrict or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe present a security, legal or operational risk.
5. Business Listings
Business listings are the core of NZ Finder. This section explains how business listings are created, claimed, managed and displayed on our platform.
5.1 Adding a Business
Businesses may be added to NZ Finder by:
- business owners or authorised representatives
- NZ Finder
- other lawful sources considered appropriate by NZ Finder
By submitting a business listing, you confirm that you are authorised to provide the information and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
Submitting a business listing does not guarantee that it will be published on NZ Finder.
All new listings are subject to review and approval before becoming publicly available.
5.2 Claiming a Business
A business listing may be claimed by an authorised representative of the business.
NZ Finder may require evidence to verify that you are authorised to manage the business before approving a claim.
Verification requirements may vary depending on the circumstances of each claim.
Submitting a claim does not guarantee that ownership or management rights will be granted.
5.3 Managing a Listing
Once a business listing has been successfully claimed, the authorised account managing that listing is responsible for:
- maintaining accurate information
- updating business details when they change
- ensuring that uploaded content complies with these Terms
- protecting access to the account associated with the listing
Business listings may only be managed by authorised accounts approved through the NZ Finder claim process.
5.4 AI-assisted Content
NZ Finder may use artificial intelligence to assist in creating business descriptions or other listing content.
AI-generated content is intended as a starting point only.
Once a listing has been claimed, the authorised account managing that listing is responsible for reviewing, correcting and maintaining the content displayed.
NZ Finder does not guarantee that AI-assisted content is complete, accurate or suitable for every business.
5.5 Business Information
Business listings may contain information obtained from publicly available sources, businesses themselves or other sources considered appropriate by NZ Finder.
Information displayed before a business listing is claimed may not have been reviewed or verified by the business.
While NZ Finder aims to improve the quality of business information, businesses remain responsible for reviewing and maintaining information associated with their claimed listings.
Users should independently verify business information before relying upon it.
5.6 Ownership Changes
If ownership or management of a business changes, the new authorised representative may submit a claim to manage the listing.
NZ Finder may require additional verification before transferring management rights.
Existing management rights may be removed where appropriate following successful verification.
5.7 Closed Businesses
If a business permanently closes, NZ Finder may:
- update the listing
- mark the business as permanently closed
- unpublish or remove the listing
- retain historical information where appropriate
The appropriate action will depend on the circumstances of each business.
5.8 Removing Listings
NZ Finder may remove, reject, unpublish or otherwise restrict business listings where appropriate, including where listings:
- violate these Terms
- contain false or misleading information
- infringe intellectual property rights
- promote unlawful or harmful activities
- create security or operational risks
- otherwise compromise the integrity of NZ Finder
Removal of a listing does not necessarily affect the status of the associated user account.
If the account managing a business listing is closed or removed, NZ Finder may retain the business listing as an unclaimed listing, allowing another authorised representative to claim and manage it in the future.
6. Using NZ Finder
When using NZ Finder, you agree to use our website and services responsibly and in accordance with these Terms and all applicable laws.
You must not:
- create fake accounts or impersonate another person or organisation
- submit false, misleading or fraudulent information
- create duplicate or fake business listings
- submit business listings without proper authority
- upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, abusive, offensive, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate
- upload content that infringes another person’s intellectual property or other legal rights
- introduce malware, viruses or other harmful software
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to NZ Finder, its systems or other user accounts
- attempt to bypass any security measures or access restrictions implemented by NZ Finder
- interfere with the operation, security or performance of NZ Finder
- use automated tools, bots, scripts or similar technologies to scrape, copy or harvest data from NZ Finder without our prior written permission
- attempt to manipulate search results, business rankings or other features of NZ Finder
- misuse any contact forms, messaging features or communication tools provided by NZ Finder
- use NZ Finder for any unlawful purpose or in any way that may damage the reputation, integrity or security of NZ Finder.
You remain responsible for any content or information that you submit through your account.
Failure to comply with this section may result in the suspension or termination of your account, the removal of business listings or other action permitted under these Terms.
7. Search, Rankings & Featured Listings
NZ Finder provides search and discovery tools to help users find businesses across New Zealand.
Search results, business rankings and featured content are determined using systems and criteria developed by NZ Finder.
Search results may take into account factors such as:
- search keywords
- business categories and subcategories
- location
- business information
- listing completeness
- business features and attributes
- relevance to the user’s search
- featured listing status
- other factors determined by NZ Finder
The criteria used to determine search results, rankings and featured content may change from time to time as NZ Finder continues to improve its services.
NZ Finder does not guarantee that any business listing will appear in a particular position or receive any minimum level of visibility, traffic or customer enquiries.
Purchasing a paid subscription does not guarantee preferential placement in search results unless the service specifically includes featured or promotional placement.
Featured Listings are displayed in accordance with the advertising or promotional services purchased by the business and are subject to the applicable campaign period and any additional terms communicated at the time of purchase.
Businesses must not attempt to manipulate search results, rankings or featured content through misleading information, keyword stuffing, duplicate listings or other practices intended to unfairly influence visibility.
NZ Finder reserves the right to adjust, remove or disregard information or content that it reasonably believes has been used to manipulate search results or otherwise compromise the integrity of the platform.
8. Paid Services
NZ Finder offers both free and paid services.
The features, pricing and availability of paid services are described on our website and may change from time to time.
Subscriptions are provided on a recurring basis unless otherwise stated and continue until cancelled in accordance with these Terms.
By purchasing a paid subscription, you authorise the applicable payment provider to process recurring payments for the selected subscription plan.
All payments are processed by trusted third-party payment providers. NZ Finder does not collect, store or have access to your full payment card details.
You are responsible for ensuring that your payment information remains valid and up to date.
If a payment cannot be successfully processed, NZ Finder may:
- retry the payment
- temporarily restrict access to paid features
- remove access to features available only under the paid subscription
- downgrade the business listing to a free listing after any applicable grace period
- suspend or cancel the subscription where appropriate
Unless otherwise stated, cancellation of a paid subscription prevents future renewals but does not affect the remaining paid subscription period.
At the end of a paid subscription, the associated business listing will normally continue as a free listing with access to the features available under the free plan.
Prices displayed on the NZ Finder website may change from time to time. Any pricing changes will apply to future subscription periods and will not affect subscription periods that have already been paid, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
NZ Finder may also change the features or availability of paid services from time to time. Any such changes will apply in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws.
Refunds are considered only where required by applicable law or where NZ Finder determines that a refund is appropriate, including in cases of duplicate payments, billing errors or other exceptional circumstances.
9. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, all intellectual property rights in the NZ Finder website, including its design, layout, software, source code, databases, text, graphics, logos, trademarks and other original content, are owned by or licensed to AN-LOC New Zealand Limited.
These rights are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Businesses retain ownership of the content they submit to NZ Finder, including business descriptions, images, logos and other materials, unless otherwise agreed.
By submitting content to NZ Finder, or otherwise authorising NZ Finder to use content on your behalf (including by email or other written communication accepted by NZ Finder), you grant NZ Finder a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, use, reproduce, display, modify, adapt and distribute that content for the purpose of creating, publishing, operating, maintaining, promoting and improving business listings, NZ Finder and its services.
This licence continues for as long as the content remains published on NZ Finder.
You confirm that you have the necessary rights and permissions to submit content to NZ Finder or authorise NZ Finder to use content on your behalf, and that doing so does not infringe the intellectual property rights or other legal rights of any third party.
Except as permitted by law or with our prior written permission, you must not:
- copy, reproduce or distribute any part of the NZ Finder website
- modify, reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code of NZ Finder
- use NZ Finder’s trademarks, logos or branding in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation
- use content from NZ Finder for commercial purposes without permission
Nothing in this section prevents users from viewing, printing or downloading content from NZ Finder for their own personal, non-commercial use, where permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property rights between you and NZ Finder.
10. Moderation, Suspension & Termination
To help maintain the quality, integrity and security of NZ Finder, we may review business listings, user accounts and other content submitted to our platform.
NZ Finder may, at its sole discretion and where appropriate:
- reject or decline new business listings

- require corrections to inaccurate or misleading information
- unpublish or remove business listings

Where appropriate, NZ Finder may provide an opportunity to correct or respond to an issue before taking action. However, we reserve the right to take immediate action where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect users, businesses or the integrity of the platform.
Where appropriate, suspended business listings or user accounts may be reinstated after the relevant issues have been resolved to the reasonable satisfaction of NZ Finder.
The exercise of any rights under this section does not limit any other rights or remedies available to NZ Finder under these Terms or applicable law.
